A week of training Roger later, and he is hopeless and she is ready for a break. He has no instincts, no reflexs, and has honestly been following her around like a puppy. She still wants to help him make something of himself, but she needs space. Which meant when Ulrich proposed traveling to some of the locations from his files she was all over the idea. She immediately went out and got a car; a souped up, baby blue land yacht from the '50s she immediately fell in love with, even if she couldn't remember what the make and model were. She named it Baby Landshark.

Day of departure and Baby Landshark is loaded but Ulrich keeps looking at his watch. He also didn't load the files in the trunk or put them in the back seat. In fact there is a suspicious lack of files. She's about to ask him what's up when a messenger interrupts them with a package for her. It's from Natasha and so she signs for it and tears it open just enough to see what's inside. Her old costume, as she's thought.

Tossing the package into the trunk, a reluctant realization occurs to Jess, one she doesn't want to think of. "Ben, where are the files?"

He looks at his watch again and then around the neighborhood."They'll be here."

She wants to face palm. "Please tell me you didn't."

Just then Roger comes running around the corner, giant duffel bag bouncing on his hip, a map clutched in his hand, and a box of donuts in the other, "Sorry I'm late guys. I wanted to get some food for the road. Every road trip has to start with the right food."

Jess side-eyes Ulrich and hisses, "You did. Damn it."

"Sorry."

"No you're not."

"Well, how's Porcupine supposed to turn over a new leaf if you don't show him how?"

He had a point, even if it was an inconvenient one. "Shut up."

Roger stops at the trunk, panting, and throws his duffel in. "I stayed up late studying the files and plotted us a route." Jess waits just long enough for both men to take their seats before she guns the engine.
